Marina Beach      The Marina Beach is a beach situated along a 12 km shoreline in Chennai. The beach begins near Fort St. George in the north to Besant Nagar in the south. Although many locals claim the Marina to be the world's longest (or second longest) beach, there exist in fact several longer beaches, including Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, Ninety Mile Beach in Australia and Ninety Mile Beach in New Zealand.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park      Birla Planetarium features a fully computerized planetarium located in the Kotturpuram suburbs of Chennai city. The planetarium is an integral part of Periyar Science and Technology Centre. The planetarium was built in the memory of the leading industrialist and visionary of India, B.M. Birla. Birla Planetarium is a fully computerized planetarium featuring an audio video sojourn of the cosmic space.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park      The Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is located in Vandalur, on GST Road. Vandalur is about 8 km from Tambaram and about 33 km from Chennai Central Railway Station. Founded in 1855, the Arignar Anna Zoological Park was the first public zoo in India.

Anna Nagar Tower      Anna Nagar Tower is officially known as the Vishweshwaraya tower park. It is built for the 1968 World Trade Fair. The majestic tower in the middle the park by itself is one of the largest in the city. It has cyclic stairs. Full view of the city can be seen from Top of the Tower. With beautiful landscaped lawns and tracks, the park provides an ideal setting for spending a leisure evening with family.

Amir Mahal      Amir Mahal is a palace belongs to the Royal family of Arcot and presently the residence of His Highness Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali Azim Jah, the eighth Prince of Arcot. Situated on an area of approx. 14 acres, Amir Mahal was built in 1789 and came into possession of the Arcot Royal Family in 1870. The 70-room Amir Mahal is the home to 600 people (family members, staff and their families)

Vivekanandar Illam      Vivekanandar Illam (or Vivekananda House, also called Ice House, Castle Kernan) is the place where Swami Vivekananda stayed for nine days when he visited Chennai (then Madras) in 1897.


     Ripon Building, one of the most beautiful modern British constructions in Madras. Corporation of Chennai. The Municipal Corporation of Chennai, after functioning from several other places, settled at Ripon building in 1913, with P.L.Moore as the President of the Municipal Corporation at the time of the inauguration.
     The Madras High Court Building is one of the landmarks of the metropolis of Chennai and believed to be the second largest judicial complex in the world. It is located near the Parrys Corner. The High Court of Judicature at Madras, one of the three High Courts in India established at the Presidency Towns by Letters Patent granted by Her Majesty Queen Victoria, bearing date 26th June 1862.
     Fort St George is the name of the first British fortress in India, built in 1644 at the coastal city of Madras (modern city of Chennai). It symbolises the beginning of British rule in India. Presently it is used as the offices of the Tamil Nadu Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. Fort St. George marks the beginning of development of Madras (Chennai) as a modern city.
     Senate House, at the Madras University campus on the Marina, is one of Chennai's most impressive architectural marvels. It was constructed under the supervision of Robert Fellowes Chisholm, one of the greatest architects of the 19th century.
     Lying on the banks of the Adyar river is the international headquarters of the Theosophical Society. The world Headquarters of the spiritual society found by Madame H.P. Blavatsky, a clairvoyant from Russia and Col. Olcott, a retired US Army officer, was originally formed in USA. On 17th November 1875 Col. Olcott gave his Inaugural Address, and chose this date as the birthday of The Theosophical Society. The Theosophist, the first issue of the journal appeared on 1st October 1879. The international headquarters of the Society was shifted to Bombay in 1879 and then to Madras in 1882.
